Tsaghkadzor Ropeway, Zip Line in the Forests, overnight in Tsaghkadzor

You will experience the great winter or spring activities that a small resort town Tsaghkadzor can offer- ride on a ropeway, zip-lining, skiing in the forests and much more. Our skilled instructors will put you on ski runs within few hours if you are a newbie. Fresh air, white snowy peaks, great views of winter forests and resort atmosphere will stay with you no matter you come with your family or friends. Tsaghkadzor is an amazing place which can attract visitors in any season. When it gets warmer, you can still enjoy the ropeway ride, ziplining or horse riding

Day 3

Lake Sevan, Dilijan Resort town, Parz Lake in Dilijan National Park, overnight in Tsaghkadzor

This day is full of nice scenery of lake Sevan- one of the biggest freshwater lakes in the world. It is located 1900 meters above sea level. The lake is surrounded by white snowy volcano peaks and mountain chains that touch the clouds. Truly unforgettable scenery. And the top of this beauty is the 9th century monastery standing on the top of the peninsula. Further drive to Dilijan Resort town located at Dilijan National Park. You will have a chance to dive into a century old streets of Dilijan town with its houses from local stone with wooden balconies and unique atmosphere. Woodworking and pottery masters will greet you in their masteries at Old Dilijan complex. Further drive to Parz lake to admire a small lake lost in the forests. It is impressive all year long and has a nice playground and a rope park for kids. You can take a boat-trip or try yourself ziplining over the lake.

Day 4

Garni Pagan Temple, Geghard Cave Monastery, Lavash baking master class, Symphony of Stones, overnight in Yerevan

This day is truly an unforgettable one due to the diversity of experiences you will have. The first stop will be at the only preserved Pagan Temple in the whole region- Garni Pegan Temple from 1st century AD. The temple is located at the old Garni Fortress on the top of a gorge. The fortress is surrounded by deep gorge from 2 sides. One can imagine the life of the royal family that was living at that corner of the heaven as their summer residence. Truly royal environment! After we will drive further to see another pearl of Armenian Architecture- Medieval Geghard Monastery complex located at the rocky gorge of Azat river. The complex is partly carved out of a rock and it is believed to have healing water coming from one of the rock-cut rooms. It is well-recognized that one of the most famous Christian relics in the world- the Holy Spear was kept in this monastery complex from 13th to 18th century. It gave a name to the monastery- Geghard means spear in Armenian. Both Geghard Monastery Complex and Garni Pegan Temple are included at the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. At the lunch time there is possibility to see how the local people bake a famous Armenian bread lavash. It is traditionally baked at clay ovens fired by fruit tree wood or grapevine bushes. At the second part of the day you will drive to Azat river gorge full of basalt rock columns. Local people call this natural wonder a Symphony of Stones just because the rock formations remind a musical instrument organ. Truly impressive landscape and strong natural energy will stay quite long in your memory.

Day 5

Sightseeing Tour in Yerevan, Republic square, Opera House, Cascade complex, overnight in Yerevan

This day we will take you into urban vibes of capital city Yerevan. You will truly feel the mixture of European and Asian cultures spiced with Soviet period architectural solutions and hospitable people. Armenia and particularly Yerevan is included in the list of top 10 safest places in the world. It is due to the culture of local people. When you walk in the streets of Yerevan you immediately feel the friendly and peaceful character of Armenian people. We will walk in the city center to see the biggest square in Armenia- Republic Square that is considered to be the political center of the country. On Abovyan street we will admire century old black and orange buildings from tufa stone, numerous water fountains, monuments and statues of remarkable Armenians. We will walk to see another masterpiece of Armenian Architecture of the 20th century- National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. The building is a result of the creative mind of a genius architect and urbanist Alexander Tamanyan. A century ago he created the new city plan for Yerevan and currently we live in the Garden city that he envisioned once. We will further walk to Gafesjian Center for the Arts that is located at Cascade Complex. This unique place has truly become one of the visit cards of Yerevan. You will have a chance to get acquainted with the works of world-known sculptors, walk or take an escalator to the top of Cascade complex to enjoy the panoramic view of Yerevan with Mount Ararat in the background. Truly breathtaking views. Armenia is one of the unique countries with millennia-old winemaking traditions and we have a wine street in Yerevan. Restaurants and wine bars on Saryan street are specialized in serving local wines to you. Get ready! On the second part of the day we will also visit an open-air souvenir market and exhibition called Vernissage. Local masters and craftsmen present their unique works. You can feel some atmosphere of Eastern bazaar there as you can easily talk to masters, ask questions, get to know them, bargain the price and generally dive into the friendly spirit of locals.

Day 6

Khor Virap Monastery, Areni-1 cave 6100 years old winery , Noravank Monastery, Tour and Degustation at Tushpa Wine cellar

On this day we will drive through the Ararat valley. This valley is considered to be one of the important centers of Armenian civilization. Many Armenian capital cities were located here. And of course, the pearl of Armenian highlands - the biblical Mount Ararat is in the central part of the valley. According to the Bible, Noah’s ark landed on Araratian mountains. We will visit Khor Virap Medieval Monastery complex near the slopes of Mount Ararat. This complex is a famous pilgrimage site due to its importance in spreading Christianity in Armenia. Afterwards we will drive to a famous wine-making region in Armenia- Vayots Dzor region. We will visit Areni-1 cave with the oldest known winemaking facility in the world that dates back to the 5th millennium BC. Further we will drive through one of the most impressive sites in Armenia- Gnishik river gorge to reach Noravank Monastery Complex. The surrounding red rocks and spectacular nature create unforgettable impressions for a lifetime. The medieval Monastery complex is in harmony with nature and it creates a feeling of inner peace and eternity. In the 13th-14th century it was one of the most important spiritual centers of Armenia. Currently it attracts pilgrims, architects and nature-lovers from all over the world. Further drive to a family owned boutique winery. We will have a great tour in the Tushpa wine cellar and taste 3 types of local wines and brandy. The taste of local spirits will surprise you with their uniqueness and richness.

Day 7

Saghmosavank Monastery at the top of Qasagh river gorge, Hovhanavank Monastery, Armenian Alphabet Park, Shopping time in Yerevan, Gum Food Market. Overnight in Yerevan

On the last day of our trip we will drive to see two masterpieces of Armenian Christian architecture- Saghmosavank and Hovhanavank Monasteries. Both complexes are located close to each other at the top of Qasagh river gorge with a gorgeous view of mountains. Afterwards we will drive to Armenian Alphabet park. Armenian people believe that our alphabet helped us to preserve Armenian identity throughout centuries in this hectic and unstable region. We believe that each letter is like a soldier that protects us and our identity. The Armenian alphabet was created in the 5th century and it is one of the most unique alphabets in the world. On the second part of the day we will leave the countryside to drive back to Yerevan for shopping. We will visit the Food Market near GUM- another must visit place to find local fruits and vegetables, dried fruits, nuts, spices, pickles, cheese and much more. We will also have some free time before the dinner time. End of the tour.
